Anti-Hero at Dastan's Basement

“Anti-Hero” which showed at the Dastan’s Basement comprises of three contextually connected yet separate pieces making a whole. The Hero here is me and the Anti-hero seems to be an atrophied version of me. The black heart, which is pierced by a pole, is mine, as is the disjointed crowned-figure laughing while standing on one leg. The heart motif is repeated on the statues face. A self-portrait that is neutered yet has a crown. The Hero who is ironically unable to perform any heroic act.
The painting contains the disjointed parts of me in an assemblage. The parts of my self-portrait together form a cohesive and united piece that functions in 2 and 3 dimensional space.
