Self Portrait/ 2015/ fiberglass, stainless steel, bronze/ 200x150x100cm
In this arrangement small 3d printed and then bronze castings of the larger sculptures from the “Beyond Me” exhibit appearing as male female pairings are placed in juxtaposition to the larger self portrait which was made with castings from my own body and face. The latter self-portrait is the only figure in the exhibit that is solitary. The bronze figures representing the relationship of duality versus their environment are here place in contrast with a figure whose concerns are internal and is partially hollow. As the last piece of the exhibition the solitary figure stands in protest to the relationships that are displayed and is in want of a new one.
